The Arizona Christian University Archery team made its program debut this past weekend at the Arizona State Outdoor Championships, hosted by Corner Archery. The Firestorm had seven student-athletes compete in the event and came away with an impressive six medals in their first outing.

ACU's roster featured:

• Male Fixed Pin: Etienne Barnes, Steven Sellers, Kal Dueberry, and Thaddious Thurman
   
• Female Barebow: Paige Gould-Rogers and Katt Mayne
   
• Female Fixed Pin: McKenna Rogers
   

In the Female Fixed Pin division, McKenna Rogers earned a gold medal. In Female Barebow, Katt Mayne captured gold after an exciting one-arrow shoot-off with the University of Arizona's Brynn Atonna, while Paige Gould-Rogers secured bronze.

The Male Fixed Pin group had a strong showing as well, with Thaddious Thurman earning gold, Etienne Barnes taking silver, and Kal Dueberry collecting bronze. Steven Sellers finished just off the podium in fourth place.

"We're thankful for the opportunity to launch our program at the Arizona State Outdoor Championships," said Head Coach Arvid Veidmark III. "Our student-athletes competed well, represented ACU with excellence, and laid a great foundation for the future of Firestorm Archery."

The team expressed appreciation to Corner Archery for hosting the event and to USA Archery Arizona for supporting local clubs and collegiate programs. ACU also thanked its home club, Arizona Archery Club, for providing practice space and ongoing support.

The Firestorm Archery program looks forward to building on this strong start in upcoming competitions.
