Lady Firestorm Compete in Women’s Conner Oppenheim tournament

Crete, Neb. - On Friday, Arizona Christian women's wrestling competed in the Women's Conner Oppenheim tournament at Doane University in Crete, NE. Five wrestlers competed in this tournament and got significant wins over good opponents.

Individual Results

103 lbs. - Makayla Lopez - went 1-2 in the tournament, defeated IWCC's Savannah Siqueiros by decision 7-0
110 lbs. - Kayla McNatt - went 3-2 in the tournament, defeated MECO's Mia Navarro by decision 11-6, defeated MECO's Leilah Patel by fall 6-0, and defeated WEST's Barbara Greenburg by decision 3-1
117 lbs. - Catalina Brown - went 0-2 in the tournament
138 lbs. - Kailey Cisneros - went 1-2 in the tournament, defeated MECO's Renice Gonzalez by fall 8-0
207 lbs. - Ruthie Chvostovsky - went 1-2 in the tournament, defeated WU's Olivia Burciaga by fall 4-0

"Your Arizona Christian University women's wrestling team visited Doane university this weekend in Crete, Nebraska! 450 participants from division two, division, three, junior colleges, and NAIA teams from all over the nation! The girls wrestled well with getting significant wins over good opponents! A couple of our wrestlers might get nationally ranked after this tournament: Kayla Mcnatt and Kailey Cisneros. Ruthie, our heavyweight, made a three month descent to make the 207 pound class and weighed in at 204.5 pounds coming down from 249 pounds! The girls are progressing nicely and we are so proud of this group."
