Glendale, AZ.- On Tuesday morning the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced that track & field athlete Lionel McPhaull was being recognized as one of 20 student-athletes across all sanctioned men's and women's college sports and divisions who go above and beyond in volunteerism and civic engagement, complementing their achievements in academics and sports.
Per the NACDA website -
"Lionel "LJ" leads with heart, faith and purpose—on the track, on campus and in the community. A two-time All-GSAC honoree and team captain, he mentors middle schoolers through Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), serves with Young Life, hosts foster care weekends and leads worship through his church communities. His summer with CRU Ministries and consistent outreach reflects a life grounded in service, spiritual growth and uplifting others."
Now a four-time All-GSAC award recipient after helping lead the men's track & field team to a second-place finish at the GSAC Track & Field Championships, McPhaull will be graduating in the Fall of 2025 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
