Inside Box Scores
The Lady Firestorm began play with a commanding 7–0 victory over Whittier College. ACU controlled the match from the outset, securing the doubles point with wins on the top two courts. Savannah Salvin and Gracie Madeya teamed for a 6–3 win at No. 1 doubles, while Eloise Diligent and Julia Bell followed with a 6–2 decision at No. 2 to clinch the early advantage.
ACU carried that momentum into singles, turning in three straight-set victories to seal the shutout. Ava Zink earned a 6–2, 6–3 win at No. 1 singles, Eloise Bigot cruised to a 6–0, 6–1 victory at No. 2, and Salvin added a 6–0, 6–1 triumph at No. 3. With the outcome decided, the remaining courts went unfinished as the Firestorm completed the sweep in convincing fashion.
Less than 24 hours later, the Lady Firestorm returned to the courts to face Chapman University at the Anderson Tennis Center. The Firestorm fell 5–2, but not without several tightly contested matches.
In doubles, Diligent and Ana Alvarez Diaz secured a strong 7–5 win at No. 2, though Chapman claimed the other two courts to take the opening point. Singles play featured multiple battles, including a thrilling top-flight match where Diligent forced a third-set super tiebreak before narrowly dropping a 10–8 decision.
ACU picked up two singles victories on the day. Bigot rallied from a first-set loss at No. 5 to earn a 5–7, 6–3, 10–5 win, while Salvin delivered a steady 6–2, 6–3 straight-set victory at No. 6. Despite the effort, Chapman secured the remaining singles matches to seal the team result.

Thoughts from Coach Carlisle

"It's great to finally get the first matches under our belts. The girls have been working really hard and there's only so much practicing you can do so it was nice to get on the court and compete for the first time this season. Overall it was a good weekend for us. We definitely learned a lot and played well against good competition. But more than anything I was so proud of the girls for their effort and energy. It was the best match atmosphere that we've had in a long time and we'll need more of that as we get deeper into the season."

Next Up

On Thursday, the Lady Firestorm will have their home opener and host Bethel College at 10am and Western New Mexico at 2pm at Paseo Racquet Center.
