Inside Box Scores
The Firestorm started the trip with a narrow 4-3 victory over Whittier College on Friday morning, leaning on a strong showing at the top of the lineup. ACU secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, as the pairings of Fenosoa Rasendra/Samuel Miyata and Matsvei Kobryk/Tobias Frantz both edged out tight matches. In singles play, ACU quickly added to its lead with straight-set wins from Miyata at No. 1, Rasendra at No. 2, and Frantz at No. 3 to clinch the team victory despite Whittier rallying in the lower half of the lineup.

Later that evening, ACU battled Chapman in another down-to-the-wire match before falling 4-3. The Firestorm again claimed the doubles point behind wins from Petar Wemmenhove/Lennert Lemahieu and Hugo Abril/Miyata. In singles, Abril delivered a key win at No. 1 in a competitive straight-set battle, while Rasendra added another point with a four-set victory at No. 5. Chapman ultimately secured the team result with wins across the middle of the singles lineup.

Arizona Christian bounced back the next day with a strong 5-2 win over Occidental College. ACU once again controlled doubles play, earning the point with dominant wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The Firestorm then took four of six singles matches, led by straight-set victories from Abril (No. 1) and Adrian Smith (No. 4). Lemahieu and Wemmenhove added hard-fought wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to seal the team victory.

Across the three matches, ACU showed depth and resilience, consistently setting the tone in doubles play while collecting key singles wins from the top of the lineup.

Thoughts from Coach Carlisle
"First and foremost I put our team in a really bad position this weekend thanks to a scheduling mistake on my part. Fortunately the guys stepped up and bailed me out which I'm incredibly grateful for. They deserve all the credit for the wins today, and Emily Harris stepped up massively as well and coached the guys to a win over Whittier. Overall it was a wild weekend, but we'll take a lot of positives from it and know that we overcame a lot of adversity which will pay huge dividends down the road. I could not be more proud of our entire team, that was the most total team weekend I've ever been a part of."

Next Up
The Firestorm will return home and host Lewis-Clark State College on Thursday at Paseo Racquet Center at 10:00 am.
