Glendale, Ariz.- Arizona Christian University flag football delivered a dominant performance Wednesday night, defeating Ottawa University Arizona 47–6 in a GSAC matchup.
The Firestorm wasted no time setting the tone defensively. On just the second play from scrimmage,
Shea Gonzalez intercepted a pass and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown to give ACU an early 7–0 lead. Arizona Christian never looked back, controlling the game on both sides of the ball.
Maccagnano and
Kaila Yniguez connected on the first play of the second quarter for a 13 yard score.
ACU built a 20–0 halftime advantage before continuing to add points in the second half. The Firestorm offense moved the ball efficiently throughout the game while the defense limited OUAZ opportunities and forced key stops.

Comments from Coach Maccagnano
"Proud of this team and what we accomplished tonight! We still have a lot of football left and have a quick turnaround with a rematch with Nevada State coming in. I told the team they have a 12-hour rule and it is time to get back and get to work tomorrow."
On Saturday, Arizona Christian faces a tough challenge as they host Nevada State- who beat them in their program debut. The game is set for a 6:00 pm start on the ACU Football Field.
