ACU Wins One On the Road

Los Angeles, Calif.– Arizona Christian went on the road last week and won their away game against Loyola Marymount 8-4. The Firestorm offense was electric, scoring just eight goals against a great team.

  • Location: Drollinger Field at LMU, Los Angeles, CA

Inside The Game
  • The game opened with a goal from LSM Ryan Leonard on an electric fast break.
  • The second and final goal of the quarter came in a similar fashion, except Ryan Leonard was feeding this time to Gavin Waddell
  • On defense, the guys only allowed one goal and were forcing the LMU offense to turn the ball over all day.
  • The score after the first quarter was 2-1 ACU.
  • In the second quarter, it was very similar to the first.
  • Both teams struggled a little bit on offense, and there were lots of turnovers.
  • Nevertheless, Kellen Haigh balled out in this quarter, scoring both of ACU's two goals.
  • On defense, there were two goals allowed, but Logan Malone, Brody Tkachyk, and Ryan Leonard were all dominant in forcing turnovers.
  • The score was 4-3 ACU at halftime.
  • The second half would look a little different offensively, with Denver Farlett out, Blake Smith stepped in to play attack and ended up finding an assist on a nice feed to Gavin Waddell
  • The offense would not score again, but the defense would continue to dominate, only allowing one goal, led by my freshman goalie, Connor Jensen
  • The score after the third quarter was 5-4 ACU.
  • Kellen Haigh found his third goal of the day, followed by a pair of goals from Tristan Watters, both assisted by Hayden Wegner
  • On defense, they would keep LMU scoreless for the whole quarter, not allowing them to take hardly any shots and finishing the game with 17 caused turnovers as a team.
  • ACU won 8-4.
