27 Winter Sport Firestorm Earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

Glendale, AZ- Last month, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2026 Daktronics NAIA Winter Sport Scholar-Athletes presented by the Phoenix Police Department. Arizona Christian University Athletics saw 27 student-athletes qualify for NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

According to the NAIA release, to qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. The winter sports sponsored by Arizona Christian that were eligible for NAIA Scholar-Athlete include men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swim, and men's wrestling.

Women's Swim topped the other four teams with eight Scholar-Athletes. Men's Wrestling was the top men's winter program for the Firestorm with six Scholar-Athletes.
