  • The No. 2 pairing of Fenosoa Rasendra and Lennert Lemahieu was locked in a tight contest at 5-3 when play concluded.
  • In singles, the Firestorm found their lone victory at No. 5, where Rasendra delivered a strong performance with a 6-1, 6-4 straight-sets win over Tim Hohmann.
  • Abril pushed GCU's Andreas Loizas in a competitive three-set battle at No. 1 singles, bouncing back after dropping the first set to take the second before falling in a 10-point tiebreaker.

  • Despite the setback, ACU showed flashes of competitiveness, particularly in the top singles position and at No. 5, but ultimately couldn't overcome the early deficit created in doubles play.

Thoughts from Coach Phil Carlisle
"This was a great experience for our guys. Considering we haven't played in a few weeks this was a tough match to come off the break to, but we got our feet under us pretty quickly and competed extremely well. It was a fun match to play before going into some tough battles this weekend."
