ACU Splits With Hope International Behind Strong Pitching Performances

Glendale, Ariz. – Arizona Christian earned a split in a GSAC conference doubleheader against Hope International, cruising to a 7-1 victory in the first game before falling 2-0 in the second game at the ACU Baseball Field.

The Firestorm opened the day with a dominant performance on both sides of the ball. The early support from the offense was more than enough for starter Tyson Kilbreath, who turned in one of his best outings of the season. The pitcher held Hope International hitless through six innings, allowing just one run while striking out four and working around six walks to improve to 7-2 on the year.

Despite a solid outing from Casey Farrell in game two, who allowed just two runs (one earned) on four hits over seven innings, the Firestorm offense struggled to find rhythm. ACU managed just three hits and struck out 11 times against Hope International starter Josh Landry, who tossed a complete-game shutout.
