Abril Named Academic All-American First Team, Lemahieu Earns Academic All-District

Glendale, Ariz.-- On Wednesday, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) revealed the 2026 NAIA Men's Tennis All-America teams and Hugo Abril earned a spot on the first team of the CSC Academic All-American, while Lennert Lemahieu earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District team.

Abril, out of Barcelona, Spain, topped Arizona Christian with a 15-2 overall record, with all appearances coming as number one in the lineup. In doubles action, Abril's record was 7-2 when paired with Adrian Smith and 5-2 when paired with Sam Miyata.

Lemahieu, a Geluwe, Belgium native, earned an overall record of 10-7, with the majority of his appearances coming as the number two in the lineup. In doubles action, Lemahieu's record was 10-2 when paired with Fenosoa Rasendra and 3-3 when paired with Petar Wemmenhove.

Head Coach Phil Carlisle stated, "It's really hard to put into words what Hugo and Lenny have meant to our team and tennis program over these last few years. Both have excelled in every area of their collegiate careers - they've been great players, great leaders, great students, and great ambassadors for ACU. They've each been the total package for the entirety of their careers here and I couldn't be any more proud of them. They're both incredibly deserving of this recognition and it just further cements their legacies as two of the best student-athletes we've had at ACU."
