Glendale, Ariz.- Following a preseason of non-conference matches, Arizona Christian Women's Volleyball is ready to jump into the Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) gauntlet. The Firestorm begin GSAC play as the hottest team in the conference on a four-match win streak.
GSAC action for the Firestorm begins tonight as they host Hope International at 6:00 pm. On Saturday, NAIA number 17 ranked The Master's comes calling at 1:00 pm.
With an overall record of 5-2, the ACU women have only dropped one set in their four straight victories. The Firestorm topped the conference with 12.33 kills per set. Allowing opponents to hit just .127 and only 10.46 kills per set, ACU stands second in the conference in both categories.
All but one of the remaining regular season matches will come against GSAC foes.
On an individual front,
Zuri Reeser leads the Firestorm with 83 kills while her 3.46 kills per sit atop the GSAC.
Madison Sherby and
Madison Van Wie follow with 51 and 49 kills respectively.
Becca Thomson (116) and
Addison Bowie (104) pace the offense in assists.
Defensively, Reeser with 79 and
Kiah Lerma right behind at 75 are out front in digs.
Haley Kootstra, Van Wie, and
Berlin Erickson are controlling the net with more than ten total blocks a piece.
