Jerod Aker enters his first year as an assistant coach for the ACU baseball program and has been teaching at Apollo High School since 2006. 

Prior to teaching at Apollo, Mr. Aker has taught in Silver City, Holbrook, Morenci, and Tolleson.

Mr. Aker holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western New Mexico University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Along with his teaching duties, Aker also serves as head baseball coach for the Apollo Hawks.  Coach Aker has been region coach of the year eight times in his career and his teams have made the playoffs for 19 years, reaching the semifinals three times and the final two times. 

Coach Aker currently has over 400 wins and his teams continue to grind it out and find success in the classroom and on the field.
