Shawn Cooper is in his ninth season with Arizona Christian as the Wide Receiver Coach.  2023 marks his fourth year as the Pass Game Coordinator and first as Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel.  In his ACU time, he has also served as the Director of Operations, Travel Coordinator, Video Coordinator, and Quality Control Assistant.

ACU passing game/receiver accolades under Coach Cooper include three NAIA All-American selections, a season of averaging 337.4 passing yards per game (2021/ fourth in the NAIA), and a season of six receivers with at least 25 catches and 250 yards receiving (2017/ only team in the NAIA that could make that claim).

Coach Coop came to ACU after serving three years as the Pass Game Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach at Saint Mary’s Catholic High School. In his three seasons with the Knights, he coached five All-State Wide Receivers and nearly broke all school records for passing, receiving and points scored. Previous to coaching at Saint Mary’s, he was the Assistant Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach at Maryvale High School. Cooper began his coaching career at Cesar Chavez High School coaching defensive backs and special teams.

Cooper is a local product of Arizona. He played wide receiver and safety at Mountain Pointe High School and was selected the captain and All-Region.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Arizona in 2009.
