  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Kevin Coble enters his first year as an assistant men’s basketball coach under head coach Jeff Rutter.

As a Scottsdale, Ariz. native and Northwestern University graduate, Coble brings a wealth of basketball experience back to his home state. During his time at NU, he received numerous accolades as a student athlete. He was selected to the All-Big Ten Freshman team in 2007, earned an honorable mention All-Big Ten award as a sophomore ('08), and was a Second Team All-Big Ten player his junior year ('09). As a senior, he sustained a foot injury which forced him to miss his final season.

Following a successful rehabilitation, Coble played professionally in the NBA Development League for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in 2012. He then joined the Sendai 89ERS in Japan’s BJ League, where he averaged 12.9 points and 5.3 rebounds during the 2012-2013 season.

After returning from Japan, Coble served as head coach of the Arizona Stars AAU 15U National Team, helping them become a top five program in the Southwest. Most recently, he worked with NBA China in Beijing and Shanghai, as a player development coach to help grow the game of basketball in Asia.

I am grateful to Coach Rutter for the opportunity to be a part of his staff," said Coble. "It will be great to return home and begin my college coaching career at ACU. I am excited for the upcoming season and blessed to be a part of Firestorm basketball."

Coble graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He currently resides in Scottsdale, Ariz. with his wife Alaina, who is the Graduate Assistant for Grand Canyon University’s women’s volleyball program
