Matt O’Meara is proud to join the Firestorm family as Director of Men’s Basketball Operations; the 2015-16 season will be his first full season after volunteering the last half of the 2014-15 season.

O’Meara joins the staff after spending almost a decade at Agua Fria High School where he worked his way up from the Head Coach of the program’s freshman team in 2005 to the Head Coach of their varsity in 2008. He guided the Owls to numerous playoff appearances, including a trip to the state title game in 2009. During his time at Agua Fria, O’Meara also served as the director of the school’s summer basketball league, English Department Chair, and as an English Teacher.

O’Meara earned his B.A. from Arizona State University in Secondary Education in 2007. He also holds a dual Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and Sports Business from the United States Sports Academy in addition to a Master’s Degree from Western Governors University in Administrative Leadership.

Matt and his wife, Shondra, have two young sons, James and Cade, and currently reside in Peoria, Arizona.
