2015-16 (Senior Year): Sharif enters his second season as a member of the Firestorm.
2014-15 (Junior Year): Sharif played in and started 33 of ACU’s 34 games as a junior. He averaged 12.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.4 steals while shooting 62.7% from the field and 71% from free throw. Sharif ranked 1st in the GSAC in field goal percentage, 2nd in blocks, 4th in offensive rebounds, 5th in rebounds, 9th in steals, 12th in scoring, 12th in defensive rebounds, and 14th in assists. He also posted six double doubles on the season and was on the GSAC’s 2014-15 top ten stellar rebound list twice when he grabbed 16 boards against The Master’s College (January 15, 2015) and Cal State San Marcos (March 20, 2015). Sharif was an All-GSAC selection. He also helped the program to their third consecutive NAIA National Championship Tournament and the first ever tournament win in program history as the Firestorm advanced to the Sweet 16.
Prior to ACU: Sharif played two seasons at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. As a sophomore he started in 24 of his 27 games played averaging 26.5 minutes per game. He posted 9 points per game and 6 rebounds per game while leading the Cougars in field goal percentage, blocks, and steals. As a freshman Sharif started in 20 of his 27 games played averaging 21 minutes per game. He led the team in blocks, rebounds, and steals.
High School: A 2011 graduate, Sharif played at Rowland High School in Ontario, California. As a senior he averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds en route to being named Second Team All-CIF. He was also a 2X All-Conference selection. He played AAU basketball for Belmont Shores and Compton Magic.
Personal: Born December 5, 1993, Sharif hails from Ontario, California. He is the son of John (father) and April (mother). He has one sister Amara (20) and one brother Josiah (15). Sharif is majoring in Behavioral Health.
