LAKE WALES, FL – The Arizona Christian Firestorm football team fell on Saturday afternoon to Webber International University by a final of 49-26 in Lake Wales, Florida.

With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 2-5 overall. With the victory, Webber International improves to 2-3 overall.                    

Webber International and ACU exchanged scores to early on to make it 14-13 after a missed extra point attempt by Michael Costello.

Webber International then struck for two more touchdowns to take a 28-13 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Firestorm got on the board first after a Mike Brown nine yard touchdown run. Webber International then scored two more touchdowns before ACU could get on the board again.

Down 42-20, quarterback Ryan Esslinger ran in a score from two yards out. Following the missed extra point earlier in the game, the Firestorm were forced to go for a two-point conversion and failed. Esslinger ended the game going 35-for-46 for 272 yards.

Webber International would tack on one more touchdown to cap off their 49-26 victory.

The Arizona Christian Firestorm football team continues their three game roadtrip next week in California, when they battle Menlo College. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 Noon.
