La Mirada, CA- On Saturday, ACU Men's Tennis won 5-4 at Biola to even their GSAC record to 2-2.  Junior Seth Moore and Sophomore Macen Vargas teamed up to deliver the match win for the Firestorm with a win in doubles.

The Firestorm (4-5, 2-2 GSAC) and the Eagles (4-5, 2-3 GSAC) began their match playing singles.

Biola actually won the first match on the day with a 6-2 and 6-0 win by David Garcia on court four.

Arizona Christian answered by taking the next three matches with all three matches having a 6-0 set mixed into the scores.  On court five, Junior Ezequiel Suarez won 6-3 and 6-0.  Senior Michael Munguia produced a win with scores of 6-0 and 6-3.   Moore and Biola's Joe Turnquist fought through a first set of 7-5 with Moore holding on.  In the second set, Moore rolled 6-0.

Philip Westwood of the Eagles knocked off Sophomore Santiago Galeffi 6-1 and 7-5 in the top singles match.

The final singles match of the day featured Senior Tyler Cawthorne and Lucas Lee pounding away at each into a third set.  Lucas notched the first set win 6-5.  Cawthorne countered with a 6-3 effort in the second and a 6-4 winner in the third set.  With Cawthorne's win, the Firestorm held a 4-2 lead after singles.

Moore and Vargas made quick of their doubles match on court three with an 8-1 win to lock in the ACU team win.  Biola won the last two doubles matches 8-3 and 9-7 to create the final overall score of 5-4.

On Saturday, the Firestorm will return to the Phoenix Tennis Center for a match with San Diego Christian at 12:00 pm (AT)/ 11:00 am (PT).  The Eagles are in action on Tuesday against Palm Beach Atlantic.
