Box Score Phoenix, AZ- Despite arriving home in the early morning from New Mexico, Arizona Christian had no problem with Westcliff on Thursday night as they won 98-51 without allowing so much as a tie. The Firestorm spread the wealth as 13 different players scored.
Senior Matt Willkomm scored the first two points of the night and the last two points of the 11-0 run that the Firestorm (9-1) use to start the game. Sandwiched in between was five points from Sophomore Lawrence Combs including a three pointer and two points from Senior Sam Finley.
The trio of Willkomm (18), Finley (15), and Combs (14) went on to combine for 47 points (versus the 51 for the entire WU team).
In their first ever meeting with ACU, the Warriors (1-16) only managed to cut their deficit to nine twice. By halftime, Arizona Christian extended out to a 33 point lead.
Combs was 5-6 from the field to deliver 12 first half points. Willkomm stood at 10 points after one half of play. ACU shot 59.4% as a team.
Half number two was never closer than the 33 point halftime spread.
Junior Callum Lawson scored nine points but also pulled down a game high 11 rebounds. Freshman Isaiah Walton contributed nine points off the bench.
The ACU men will travel up to Las Vegas next week to participate in the Las Vegas Hoopla. Their first of two games will be against Morningside on Tuesday at 4:00 pm (AZ time)/ 3:00 pm (Arizona Time).
