Sessions Named Co-SIDA Academic All-District

Box Score

Phoenix, AZ- Senior Andy Sessions has been named to the 2017-18 Co-SIDA Academic All-District Team as announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Sessions, who calls home Mesa, AZ, used his perfect 4.0 GPA in business to earn the District Four College Division First Team selection.  District four covers NAIA and two year schools from Texas to Wyoming and west plus all Canadian schools.  His first team selection advances Sessions to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team ballot- the highest academic honor in college athletics.  The Academic All-America team selections will be voted on and announced in March.

Athletes are nominated by individual CoSIDA members based on their academic performance in the classroom and athletic performance on the court.  The athlete must have a 3.3 GPA or higher, be sophomore or better, and be a starter or key sub to earn a nomination.

During his four years as part of the Arizona Christian Men's Basketball team, Sessions has appeared in 111 of the 122 games played by ACU with 21 starts.  Sessions earned the rare honor of being voted a captain by his teammates as a freshman.

This season, Sessions has appeared in all 26 games earning a spot in the starting lineup on Saturday.  The guard serves as a coach on the floor when he steps on the hardwood.  The Firestorm currently sit at 14-12 on the season.

Sessions is the lone GSAC representative on the Academic All-District Men's Basketball team.

Nice work- Andy Sessions!
