Women's Basketball Takes First of Two at San Diego Christian

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Arizona Christian University women's basketball program (8-3; 2-1 GSAC) rolled to an 83-52 GSAC victory Friday evening in San Diego, defeating the Hawks of San Diego Christian College (3-3; 0-1 GSAC) inside the Joan Kroc Center.

Thoughts from Coach:

After the win, Rusty Rogers said, "After a crazy first half that resulted in 20 free-throw attempts by San Diego Christian, we regained our composure and really played intelligently during the second half.  Another huge step in our growth as a team happened tonight and I couldn't be more proud!"

Game Details:

The victory marks 11-consecutive wins for the Firestorm over the Hawks and moves ACU's lead in its all-time series against SDCC to 11-7.  Five different players finished with double-digit points for ACU.

The contest was all-ACU as the Firestorm shot 29-of-65 (.446) from the field while holding SDCC to just 12-of-53 (.226) shooting from the field.  Despite taking just a six-point lead into the half, ACU would lead by as many as 32 points in the second half, outscoring the Hawks 44-19 in the half en route to picking up the 83-52 GSAC win.
