PRESCOTT, Ariz.. - The Arizona Christian University women's golf program continued its spring season earlier this week at the three-day, ERAU Spring Invitational at Antelope Hills Golf Course.
ACU did not compete as a team, and instead had three individuals compete, led by Mia Guevara, who finished 35 over (251) while also finishing tied for 13th individually.
After the event, head coach Kristal Parker said, "I saw signs of positive movement in the right direction this week at the event. The gals have been working hard on swing changes and their short game. Kylie had her career best nine-hole score during the first round shooting one under par 35 on the front nine. She went on to card a 78 which matches her career-best score. Mia had a great second round in the 70's as well. Unfortunately, Katie had to withdraw from the event after the first round as she has been having back issues. Today's conditions were brutal with wind gusting up to 40 miles per hour, but the girls battled and hung in there."
Team Scores (Final After Three Rounds - Par 72):
Embry-Riddle (Ariz.): 289 + 297 + 313 = 899
Ottawa (Ariz.): 306 + 309 + 322 = 937
ACU Individual Scores:
Guevara: 87 + 79 + 85 = 251 (+35)
Kylie Begay: 78 + 88 + 93 = 259 (+43)
Katie Goodwin: Shot 88 in round one before withdrawing for the remainder of the event due to injury
