• Tied 2-2 in the opening set, ACU used a service error from Park to take the set lead for good
• The Firestorm hit a blistering .471 as a team in the opening set
• To begin set two, Park held the lead until 9-8 barring a few early points
• But ACU rattled off a 5-0 run to take control of the set (kills from Beck and Mayfield, ace from Wesley Hunter)
• Beck pounded out six kills in the set  
• Set number three was a back-and-forth set that went down to the wire
• Locked up 23-23, Beck put away lucky kill number 13
• On match point, Mayfield and Hunter teamed up on a block to seal the deal
• The Firestorm earned their first ever opening day victory
