Phoenix, Ariz.- Facing familiar foes and one newer opponent at Brophy Prep on Saturday, Katie Sheldon punched her ticket to NAIA Nationals. In addition, the Arizona Christian women broke several personal records. After the meet, three seniors were honored.
Thanks to her swim in the 200 butterfly of 2:19.18, Sheldon moved into the top 40 in the NAIA and will be going to nationals in March. Along with Sheldon's season best swim, Lily Cozens, Hanah Angel, Abbey Lair, and Courtney Pequin all swam at least season best times.
Lyndsey Brueckner, Sydney Sarsten, and Sheldon were honored with senior recognition when the swimming wrapped up.
Coach Brad Hering closed his senior presentation by saying, "It is hard to compare this senior class to other great senior classes in years before, but this is a special group of student athletes who each are committed to following the Lord and all of them have been so important to this team."
