Turn Out The Lights, ACU Out Physicals MSUN

Havre, Mont. - Second straight away game for the 2024 season and your Firestorm gets a big win. Arizona Christian's defense only gave up 233 total yards. The defense came up big with two interceptions, one from corner back Griffin Meier and the second from free safety Jackson Ortiz. The Firestorm's run game was exciting to watch with 49 attempts for 285 yards, on a 5.8 yards per carry, with the 31-10 victory.

AJ Sibley helped keep off the Lights with a great performance of 16 carries for 95 yards rushing with two rushing touchdowns.

Junior LB Travis Combs and Senior defensive lineman Martin Rodriguez tied each other with five tackles on the day for the defense.

Inside The Numbers
  • 3:58 in the first quarter, Sibley ran in a six yard TD that took 10 plays for 70 yards
  • In the 2nd quarter with 5:15 left, ACU Brown 26 yard pass from Herrera that took 15 plays, 80 yards
  • Nestor Higuera nailed a 35 yard field goal to make it 17-0 just before the beak
  • MSUN scored all ten of their points in the third quarter to make it 17-10
  • With 9:17 left in the game, Ennis ran in a 36 yard TD that capped a five play, 76 yard drive
  • In the final minutes of the game, Sibley iced the game with a one yard TD run that concluded an 11 plays, 81 yard drive and account for the final score 31-10

"We are so proud of our guys. It was a very difficult week and the way they responded as a team was really special. They played for each other, they supported each other, and they played with an intensity that you only hope your players show. It was a nice win, and we're excited to get home and start working on the next game."
