Firestorm Come Up Short in Dual Against Eastern Oregon

Glendale, AZ - Arizona Christian University's men's wrestling hosted Eastern Oregon University at home in the Firestorm Recreation Center, but ultimately, came up short losing 25-12 in the dual. Despite the loss, three wrestlers dominated on the mat, getting huge victories in their weight classes.

125 lbs - Julio Gonzales (ACU) won by major decision over Jackson Eylar (EOU) 10-2. (ACU 4-0)
133 lbs - Kai Carson (EOU) won by sudden victory-1 over Jason Ramirez (ACU) 11-8. (ACU 4-3)
141 lbs - Daniel Guerrero (EOU) won by decision over Michael Trujillo (ACU) 8-3. (EOU 6-4)
149 lbs - Eric Larwin (EOU) won by decision over Rico Robles (ACU) 6-3. (EOU 9-4)

"Friday night we celebrated a special class of 8 seniors that have had a massive impact on ACU wrestlings culture and success over the past 4 seasons. We are unbelievably thankful for their dedication to the program. Unfortunately we didn't get the job done in the dual vs EOU. We simply have to win the matches which we are favored to win in nationally ranked matchups like this with tough conference opponents. Freshman Julio Gonzales stepped up huge for the team by defeating 2025 national qualifier Jack Eylar from EOU by major decision. Seniors Leo Galasso and Kaden Martin also had dominant major decision victories as well in the dual. Senior Kaiden Cisneros lost a very close overtime match against 2025 All-American Nico Rodriguez as well. Our guys are committed to the process and we were right back to work Saturday morning getting ready for this weeks dual against Providence."
