Glendale, Ariz.- The Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) has named
Dayna Herrera Softball Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions following her exceptional performance both at the plate and in the circle.
Offensive Dominance
Herrera torched opposing pitching to the tune of a .688 batting average across six games, showcasing her power with two home runs, three doubles, five runs scored and four RBI.
Her standout performance came against Bushnell, where she homered and doubled, demonstrating her ability to hit for both power and average. She added a 3-3 with a home run effort against Oregon Tech.
Two-Way Excellence
Not content to dominate solely at the plate, Herrera also excelled in the circle, posting a 2-1 record with a save and 12 strikeouts. She collected victories against both Bushnell and Simpson, then returned to close out Simpson with a save, proving her value as a complete player.
Herrera's combination of offensive firepower and pitching prowess made her the clear choice for this week's honor.
