Trio Earns All-GSAC Recognition

Glendale, Ariz.- The Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) announced the 2025-26 GSAC Men's Basketball All-Conference Team, presented by Under Armour, and Arizona Christian topped with three recipients- Shaud Bradley, Jay Lee, and Ese Onakpoma.  Onakpoma earned double honors as he was selected the Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Head Coach Jeff Rutter commented, "It's great to see Ese, Jay, and Shaud be recognized for the All-Conference team.  All three have had great years and each has carried us at times. With so many new guys, it's taken some time to figure things out, and it's great to see these guys recognized all the while sacrificing for the good of the group."

Onakpoma, from Naugatuck, Conn., led the Firestorm in scoring (450 points/ 16.1 points per game), steals (40), and blocks (28).  The guard started all 28 games played by the Firestorm and added 4.7 rebounds.  He recorded three doubles-doubles with his season best of 28 points against Carroll (MT) in one double effort and season high of 11 rebounds versus Georgetown in another one.  Five steals against Oregon Tech and four blocks against La Sierra showcased his season long defensive effort.

Focusing on Onakpoma's repeat defensive player of the year honor, Coach Rutter stated, "Ese had a player of the year type year, and certainly deserving of another defensive player of the year award.  His effort and intensity set the tone for us and he never takes a defensive possession off."

Bradley, out of Sacramento, Calif., finished the regular season second on the ACU squad with 13.9 points and 2.3 assists.  Bradley was tied with Onakpoma with 40 steals.  The guard appeared in all 28 games with 21 appearances in the starting lineup.  Twenty-five points against Eastern Oregon was his season's best scoring output.  Twice he dished out six assists- against Georgetown early in the season and Park Gilbert later down the road.

Lee, hailing from Las Vegas, Nev., topped the Arizona Christian men and was second in the GSAC with 8.4 boards per game.  Scoring wise, the center produced 9.7 points per game (third on the squad).  He contributed 26 blocks.  Six double-doubles topped the Firestorm highlighted by an 18 point and 16 rebound showing against The Master's- both season highs.  Season highs of four assists and four blocks came in the season opener against Lewis-Clark State.

With the All-GSAC trio leading the way, Arizona Christian Men' Basketball captured their sixth straight regular season championship.  The Firestorm will head into this week's GSAC Tournament as the top seed.

Gentlemen- Congratulations on the All-GSAC recognition.
