Glendale, Ariz.- Junior two-way standout
Dayna Herrera collected her fourth GSAC Softball Player of the Week honor, presented by Athletic Solutions, as announced by the Great Southwest Athletic Conference on Monday.
Herrera, hailing from Albuquerque, NM, powered the Firestorm to a four-game sweep of Park-Gilbert, producing at the plate and in the circle. Â She hit .625 (5-for-8) with three home runs and eight RBI, posting an impressive .800 on-base percentage and 1.750 slugging percentage across the series.
In the circle, Herrera delivered two wins and a save. Â She threw 13.1 innings, allowing just one earned run on seven hits while striking out nine batters, finishing the week with a 0.53 ERA.
Her performance helped the Firestorm complete the series sweep and improve to 8-0 in GSAC play while extending their program best win streak to 15 games.
