Inside The Game vs CSUSM
  • The game opened up pretty quickly for the Firestorm with a goal from Hayden Wegner that was the first of the day. However, the firestorm would lose momentum and fail to find the back of the net for the rest of the quarter. The defense would also have a rough quarter, allowing four goals.
  • At the end of the first quarter, the score was 4-1 CSUSM.
  • The second quarter was also slow for the Firestorm. They did not score at all to close out the half. The defense allowed three goals. Despite the score, they were causing lots of turnovers against the number two team in the nation, led by Ryan Leonard
  • The score was 7-1 CSUSM at the half.
  • The third quarter would prove to be a fairly exciting one for the Firestorm, who would outscore the second-ranked team in the nation 3-1. Goals were scored by Carson Brown, Blake Smith, and Tristian Watters. The defense was running a new set and had a new goalie in, and it would work for them.
  • At the end of the third quarter, the score was 8-4 CSUSM.
  • The fourth quarter was also a good one for the Firestorm, but it would not be enough to come back and win the game. Gavin Waddell found a goal, but it was the only one in the quarter compared to the Cougars' two.
  • ACU lost the game, 10-5.

Inside the Game vs The College of Idaho
  • The game opened up very poorly for the Firestorm; they allowed a quick goal, got a minute-long unreleasable penalty, and proceeded to give up three more. Nevertheless, Hayden Wegner was able to score a goal off a pass from Tristan Watters
  • After the first quarter, the score was 6-1 COI.
  • The second quarter would follow suit, as ACU gave up six more goals and did not score any of their own.
  • The score was 12-1 heading into the half.
  • The third quarter was also pretty rough for ACU. Ryan Leonard was able to score on an awesome transition goal, but the defense would struggle again, allowing seven goals.
  • The score was 19-2 COI at the end of the third quarter.
  • The final quarter of play would be the best for the Firestorm, but it was not pretty. The offense struggled with turnovers all day, and the defense struggled to slow down the high-powered COI offense. Carson Brown scored one and assisted another to Tristan Watters, and the defense only gave up one final goal.
  • ACU lost the game, 20-4.
