Fullerton, CA - The Arizona Christian University women's basketball team (3-2, 0-1 GSAC) dropped their GSAC opener to Hope International (6-0, 1-0 GSAC) 72-57 on Thursday evening at Darling Pavilion in Fullerton, CA.

Game Details:

It was a tight first quarter as both teams held leads before the Royals closed the quarter on a 5-2 run to take a 15-12 advantage at the break. It was a similar story through most of the second as the teams traded baskets with the Firestorm retaking the lead at 26-23 off a clutch three pointer from Graciela Roybal. That would be the last lead the Firestorm held as the Royals closed the half on an 11-0 run to take a 34-26 halftime lead. From there it was all Royals in the third as they outscored the Firestorm 24-11 to take a 58-37 lead into the final quarter. The Firestorm fought back though as they went on a 15-5 run to close within 63-52. Unfortunately, the Firestorm would get no closer as the Royals went on to win 72-57.
