Three Lady Firestorm Join Program Record Books

Phoenix, Ariz.- In their indoor season opener at the Holiday Preview, ACU Women's Track and Field turned some heads as three athletes (McKenna Rogers, Jade Roberts and Rachel Ply) delivered top-ten program performances in their respective disciplines. Both Rogers and Ply accomplished this feat in their first collegiate event and Firestorm debut.

60-Meter Hurdles

McKenna Rogers- 10.85 seconds (3rd all-time in ACU history)

60 Meter Dash

Jade Roberts- 8.43 seconds (5th all-time in ACU history)

Discus Throw

Rachel Ply- 27.58 meters/90'6'' (10th all-time in ACU history)

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BRIAN BELL

"In the past we have not competed this early in the season, but with a team that is almost 80% new athletes it was important to have an early test," Coach Bell said. "The entire coaching staff is thrilled with how each athlete competed. This was a great opening meet to get us ready for competing next week at the Air Force Holiday Opener at the United States Air Force Academy on December 8th."

NEXT UP FOR THE FIRESTORM

ACU heads north to Colorado Springs for the Air Force Holiday Collegiate Open on December 8th. This event will be their last in the calendar year, before the Firestorm pick up the remainder of their indoor season in late January.
