Mesa, AZ – The women's Track & Field team traveled east to Mesa Community College for the Carvel Jackson Track & Field Memorial Showcase.  The meet featured a mixture of NCAA, NJCAA, and NAIA competition which allowed for high level competition, and the opportunity for many of the Firestorm to have their best performances of the season.  Top performances included the 4x100 relay team setting the program record for the third meet in a row, and junior Alison Unruh setting her second program record of the season, this time, in the 5K.

Sprints & Hurdles
The ladies 4x100 continued the trend of resetting the program record, in this instance, with a time of 49.03.  At the end of the meet, the team of Lucille Lovelace, Georgia Gomez, Rylan Rhodes and India Green ran their first 4x400 relay of the season with an impressive opening time of 4:09.56.  In the 100 hurdles, sophomore Shaylee Quenzer set a new personal best of 15.88, and in the 400 hurdles, freshman Jayde Stremcha set a new personal best of 1:11.22.

Long Distance
Unruh's time of 18:14.22 was not only a program record, but it was also 40 seconds faster than her previous best.  It was just two weeks ago, at the Oxy Invite, Unruh set the program record in the 10K.  In other distance events, senior Kaesha Guillaume ran her first steeplechase of the season and achieved a time of 12:16.22.

Middle Distance
Freshman Alexi Till had a season best in the 800 with a time of 2:30.45, and fellow freshman Ezra Haller ran a season opening time of 4:53.14 in the 1500.

Jumps
A pair of sophomores led the team in jumps this weekend.  Goldyn Hall performed the Triple Jump achieving a mark of 33' 4.75" while Rylan Rhodes achieved 17' 0" in the Long Jump.  Performing the High Jump for the first time was freshman Avery Broyles who hit a mark of 4' 10.25".

Throwing Events
Senior Adelien Santa Maria was the top Hammer thrower on Saturday.  Her toss of 112' 4" was a new personal best for her and currently ranks her first in the GSAC.  Santa Maria also led the team in the Shot Put, while freshman Emma Webster led in the Discus with a throw of 118' 1".
