Arizona Christian Adds Women's Flag Football As Next NAIA Varsity Sport

Glendale, Ariz.- Arizona Christian University (ACU) is thrilled to announce the introduction of Women's Flag Football as a new varsity sport in the athletics department. With the sport's remarkable growth across Arizona high schools and surrounding states, ACU is excited to help grow the sport by offering an opportunity to compete at the collegiate level in the NAIA.

"We are excited to welcome Women's Flag Football to the ACU athletics family," said Dr. Peter Dryer, Director of Athletics at Arizona Christian University. "We believe the opportunity to compete for the Firestorm is tremendous - pursuing an excellent degree from a biblical worldview, growing athletic facilities, a high level strength training program, quality care from our sports medicine team, mental performance training, and our full commitment to Christian faith development within the athletic arena."

Women's Flag Football, recognized as an emerging sport by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), has seen a surge in popularity and participation, making this the perfect time for ACU to expand its athletics offerings. The university plans to hire a dedicated coach immediately, with the goal of preparing the team for competition in the 2025-26 academic year.
