WBB Generates Ten GSAC Scholar-Athletes

Glendale, Ariz. - Arizona Christian University Women's Basketball produced a conference-high 10 GSAC Scholar-Athletes according to a release from the conference earlier today. The following were tabbed as honorees: Halley Barram, Baylee Bushlack, Kayla Clark, Lauren Gunn, Raegen Henry, Kayla Hourigan, Tarissa Moore, Halle Payne, Graciela Roybal and Emily Till

To be eligible for this distinction, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

Halley Barram (Behavioral Health Major)

The sophomore from Salem, Oregon received her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete honor. Barram plans on going into social work after college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 14 appearances this season and scored a season-high nine points (3-for-5 from three-point land) against #11 Concordia (NE).

Baylee Bushlack (Business Administration Major)

The sophomore from Thorton, Colorado collected her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete award. Bushlack plans on working in the sports industry after college.

Kayla Clark (Business Major)

The junior from Anthem, Arizona earned her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete distinction. Clark plans to own a business following her time in college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 27 starts, leads the team in total assists (81) and scored a season-high 12 points in the GSAC Tournament Semifinals against 1-seed Vanguard.

Lauren Gunn (Biology Major)

The sophomore from Saginaw, Michigan received her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete nod. Gunn plans to attend nursing school for her CRNA after college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 21 starts, leads the team in assists per game (3.0) and produced three games with at least 30 points (38 in 77-74 win over #5 Carroll (MT)). 

Raegen Henry (Business Major)

The senior from Shelton, Washington collected her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete honor. Henry is undecided on her plans after college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 29 appearances and had a season-high seven points against Jessup on February 1st.

Kayla Hourigan (Business Major)

The sophomore from Valencia, California earned her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete distinction. Hourigan plans to be an attorney following her time in college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 13 appearances and tied a career-high scoring mark with 20 points against Justice College on December 14th.

Tarissa Moore (Biology Major)

The senior from Peoria, Arizona received her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete nod. Moore plans to go into genetic counseling after college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 18 appearances and had a season-high seven points against Justice College on December 1st.

Halle Payne (Family Studies Major)

The junior from Bloomfield, New Mexico collected her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete honor. Payne plans to be a family resource management specialist following her time in college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has started in all 30 games, is the third-highest scorer on the team (11.6 PPG) and recorded a season-high 23 points against Goshen (IN) on December 16th.

Graciela Roybal (Biology Major)

The junior from Chandler, Arizona earned her second consecutive GSAC Scholar-Athlete distinction. Roybal plans to be a physical therapist after college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 14 appearances, is the fourth-highest scorer on the team (10.7 PPG) and had a season-high 20 points (6-of-9 from three) in her season debut against Life Pacific on January 11th.

Emily Till (Behavioral Health Major)

The sophomore from Canon City, Colorado received her first GSAC Scholar-Athlete award. Till plans to be a speech language pathologist after college. Entering the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, she has made 24 starts, set the program's single game (20) and single season rebounding record (277) and posted nine double-doubles, featuring a  20-13 effort against The Master's on February 8th.
