Shelton Coach of the Year, Reeser/Tedrow All-GSAC

Glendale, Ariz.- On Tuesday, the Great Southwest Athletic Conference announced the 2025 GSAC Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team presented by Under Armour and the Phoenix Police Department and Head Coach Tiger Shelton was named the Co-Head Coach of the Year with Zuri Reeser and Haley Tedrow earning All-GSAC accolades.

Coach Shelton, in his first year at the helm of Arizona Christian, led the Firestorm to their best regular season since joining the GSAC in 2012.  With their 13-3 GSAC record (most GSAC wins in program history), ACU finished tied for second in the conference and earned the second seed in this week's GSAC Championships.  The 18-7 overall record for ACU is one win off the most all-time season wins in program history (19 wins in 2010).

For Shelton, this marks his second GSAC Coach of the Year honor as he earned the same recognition in 2022 while leading the women's volleyball program at Jessup University.

Assistant Coach Lauren Hess stated, "It has been a joy and privilege to work with Tiger this year!  He is someone that is consistently humble, cares deeply about his team, is willing to learn and grow, and celebrates his team for who they are.  He has been instrumental to our success this year and ACU volleyball would not be who we are without him at our helm."

Reeser, out of Stanfield, OR, topped the Firestorm with 271 kills and 34 service aces.  Her 2.95 kills per set rank seventh in the GSAC.  She added 262 digs- third on the squad.  The outside hitter came out swinging in her first match wearing a Firestorm uniform as she delivered her ACU high of 22 kills against Oregon Tech.

Asst Coach Hess commented, "Zuri has been a huge impact player for us this year.  Not only is Zuri an incredible player, but she has stepped into a role of leadership and always creates a fun and competitive atmosphere in our gym.  I am incredibly proud of how Zuri has grown this year and I'm excited for what we'll continue to accomplish next year."

Tedrow, from Lake Isabella, CA, completed the regular season with 205 kills and a .239 hitting percentage.  Her hitting percentage ranks eighth in the GSAC.  She is second on the team with 59 blocks on the season.  The opposite hitter delivered 17 kills against Hope International to cap a string of double digit kills in five straight matches.

Upon reflecting on Tedrow, Asst Coach Hess said, "Haley is someone I have been deeply proud of this year.  She has really grown into her own and has stepped into a role of leadership that has taken us to the next level.  She has been huge for our team, and I know she will be valued and make an impact in whatever she does next."

With the honored trio leading the way, the Firestorm are hoping for success in the GSAC tournament and beyond.

Congratulations to Shelton, Reeser and Tedrow on All-GSAC honors.
