Gainesville, FL – The Firestorm Track & Field team closed things out at the NAIA Indoor Championships by adding another All-American to the program record books. This time it was sophomore
TaHaj Acoff who after entering the Shot Put competition ranked 14
th overall, climbed up the leader board to eight place to earn his first All-American honors.
Throughout the winter, Acoff has been resetting his own program record in the shot put, and the indoor nationals was no different. On his first throw of the meet, he set a new personal best of 16.34 meters which got him into the finals. In the finals, Acoff reset that record with a throw of 16.36 meters which earned him his eighth-place finish.

Brian Bell, "We are all very excited for TaHaj. He came into nationals ranked 14
th in the nation, and to finish 8
th and to be recognized as an All-American is a testament to the hard work he and Coach Gilliam have put in. We had a great indoor season and are excited for the coming outdoor season."
Next Up
Saturday March 8, the team will head to Tucson, AZ for the Spring Break Fiesta hosted by the University of Arizona. Competition begins at 10:00am.
