Glendale, AZ – The men's track & field team took a short trip across town to Glendale Community College for an invitational which featured a mixture of NCAA Division 1, NJCAA, and GSAC competition. The team received strong contributions from sophomore Isaac Linan who set a new program record in the 800 with a time of 1:54.18. Senior Jase Carrasquillo had a successful day across multiple disciplines including new personal best in both the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.61 and the long jump with a mark of 23' 5.25".  Junior TaHaj Acoff, in addition to winning the shot put, was also the top collegiate discus thrower on the day, resetting his program record with a toss of 158' 8".

Mid-Distance
In addition to Linan, freshman John-Gabriel Lofredo ran his first 800 of outdoor season hitting a time of 1:56.80 and was followed close behind by fellow freshman Adriel Valenzuela (1:57.07), sophomore Tanner Johnson (1:57.17) and freshman Landyn Deboard (1:57.25).  The five runners currently hold 2^nd-6^th place in the GSAC standings heading into the championship meet less than two weeks from now.

Sprints & Jumps
Carrasquillo's new personal best in the long jump is the top mark in the GSAC heading into the conference championships, and in second behind him is junior Anthony Lieberman who competed in the long jump for the first time this season and achieved a mark of 21' 8.75".  Carrasquillo also competed in the triple jump and his mark of 44' 11" is also tops in the GSAC.

Long Distance
Sophomore Braxton Pingleton ran a new personal best in the 1500 with a time of 4:15.99, and then nearly match his best in the 5000-meter race later in the evening with a time of 16:11.00. 

Hurdles
Junior Michael Szymanski won the men's 400 hurdles in a time of 54.77.

The Firestorm will next compete at the GSAC Track & Field Championships in Aliso Viejo, CA on the campus of Soka University.  The meet will start on Thursday April 23 with the multi-event championships and conclude on Saturday April 25.
