Firestorm Show Out in SLC DII All-Conference Awards

Glendale, Ariz.-- Six ACU players were selected to the 2026 SLC Division II All-Conference First and Second Teams. Gavin Waddell, Kale Parthen, and Ryan Leonard earned spots on the SLC Division II First Team. Carson Brown, Tristan Watters, and Logan Malone earned spots on the SLC Division II All-Conference Second Team. Hayden Wegner, Brodey Tkachyk, and Andrew Sanchez-Aldana received honorable mentions. 

Kale Parthen received SLC Division II Specialist of the Year and Logan Malone received SLC Division II Rookie of the Year. 

Gavin Waddell (Attacker / Junction City, OR)
Waddell was tabbed SLC DII All-Conference first team. The sophomore started in 14 of the 15 games he played and led the team in goals scored with 40 on the season. Waddell also had 20 assists, 41 ground balls, and 116 shots taken. 

Kale Parthen (Face-Off Specialist / Colorado Springs, CO)
Parthen was recognized with a spot on the SLC DII All-Conference first team and earned the SLC DII Specialist of the Year. The junior started in 11 of the 15 games he played. He led the team with 216 face-off wins, earning the title of specialist of the year. Parthen also had six goals on the year, along with four assists, a record of 143 ground balls, and took 20 shots. 

Ryan Leonard (Long-Stick Midfielder / San Diego, CA)
Leonard was also tabbed a spot on the SLC DII All-Conference first team. The senior started in one of the 15 games played. He scored five goals on the year with one assist and 88 ground balls with another 13 shots taken. Defensively, Leonard had 20 caused turnovers, the most on the team. 

Carson Brown (Attacker / Buckeye, AZ)
Brown was recognized with a spot on the SLC DII All-Conference second team. The junior started in 13 of the 15 games he played. He scored 29 goals on the season, the second-most of the team followed by 11 assists and 24 ground balls. 

Tristan Watters (Attacker / Temecula, CA)
Watters was tabbed a spot on the SLC DII All-Conference second team. The sophomore started in five of the 15 games he played. He scored the third-most goals on the team, with 16 total followed by five assists and 23 ground balls. 

Logan Malone (Short-Stick Defensive Midfielder / Camas, WA)
Malone was recognized with a spot on the SLC DII All-Conference second team and earned the SLC DII Rookie of the Year. The freshman played in all 15 games and scored two goals and had one assist on the season. Malone also had 34 ground balls and caused four turnovers defensively.
