Glendale, AZ- The hot corner prevailed for Arizona Christian Softball in the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announcement of the 2026 CSC Academic All-District NAIA Softball Team. The trio of
Christina Grubb,
Dayna Herrera, and
Rachel Martin- who were the only three Firestorm to start at third base during the 2026 season- claimed the All-District honor.
To be nominated by their College Sports Communicator, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a 3.50 cumulative GPA and competed in 90 percent or started 66 percent of their team's contests. A nomination by their CSC earns the student-athlete All-District honors. Select All-District finalists move up to the CSC Academic All-America ballot where a national committee determines the All-America Teams.
Grubb, out of Sequim, WA, graduated with a degree in elementary education. The senior had a breakout season with a .393 average, two home run, and 29 RBI season. She split her time with 21 starts behind the plate and 18 starts at third.
Herrera, from Albuquerque, NM, is working on a degree in biology. The junior logged starts at pitcher (19), designated player (17), and third base (12). An exceptional season was highlighted by an NAIA leading .526 batting average and a 14-win effort in the circle.
Martin, claiming home as Fresno, CA, topped the Academic All-District trio in GPA and appearances at catcher (28) and third (22). In the classroom, she is working on a degree in biology. On the field, the speedster swiped a team high 21 stolen bases.
The impressive trio guided the Firestorm to a regular season GSAC championship and back to the NAIA Opening Round.
Well done, ladies!
