Box Score Rocklin, CA- After playing to 1-1 first half tie, three straight goals by William Jessup proved to be the difference in the 4-2 loss for the Firestorm. Juniors William Ozuma and Luis Tapia notched the goals for Arizona Christian.
Both teams started the match offensive minded as the two teams combined for five shots in the first eight and a half minutes with four of them on goal- two saves each for Freshman William Alcantar and William Jessup goalkeeper Zachary Kammerer.
However, two minutes later the Warriors opened the scoring on a goal from Conner Entz.
In the 24th minute, Ozuma, who had just subbed in two minutes earlier, found himself in front of the net one-on-one and delivered the first goal of the match for the Firestorm.
ACU outshot WJU down the stretch in the first half 3-2 but the score remained tied at 1-1 after the first 45 minutes of action.
The match changed in a hurry two and a half minutes into the second half as the Warriors scored two goals 11 seconds apart.
William Jessup scored their third goal of the second half in the 61st minute to build a 4-1 edge.
By the time Tapia scored with 65 seconds remaining in the contest, it was too late for the Firestorm to complete the comeback.
The Firestorm will continue their Northern California swing as they head to Atherton for a match with Menlo on Saturday. The two teams will kick-off at 1:00 pm.
