Tucson, AZ- Playing on the neutral court of Pima Community College, Arizona Christian returned to the win column with a 7-2 win over NCAA DIII Wisconsin- Eau Claire on Wednesday evening.  Sophomore Santiago Galeffi showed his grit and determination with a nice hard fought singles win and an easy win in doubles.

With doubles first on the agenda, the Firestorm (5-9) showed their doubles talent as they swept the tandem matches.  Galeffi teaming with Senior Michael Munguia had the easiest time with their 8-3 court two win.  Senior Tyler Cawthorne and Junior Ezequiel Suarez had to play an extra game before they could secure their 9-7 win on court one.  Junior Seth Moore and Sophomore Macen Vargas held on for the 8-6 win.

Moving into singles play, Munguia cruised on court six 6-0 and 6-0. 

Cawthorne sealed the ACU team win when he won 6-2 and then after being tied 5-5 in the second set won the final two games.

Court five saw Suarez earn the 6-4 first set and 6-2 second set wins.

Galeffi showed his fight on the second court.  He won the first set 6-2.  But he dropped the second set 7-6.  He countered with a 6-4 win in the third set for the match win.

On Thursday, the men will host Idaho State at the Phoenix Tennis Center.  First serve is set for 11:00 am.
