Prescott, AZ- Playing up north in the cooler weather of Prescott, Arizona Christian split with Embry-Riddle winning 9-1 and then falling 7-2 on Tuesday.  Senior Sianna Gomez and Junior Cheyann Michael were both 2-4 and combined to score five of the nine runs in game one.

The afternoon started out with the Firestorm (16-17) scoring the first eight runs of the game.

Gomez singled, stole second, and scored on an RBI single by Junior Ashlynn Preciado in the first.  Michael reached on error before Preciado's single and scored on error.  Preciado crossed the plate on a fielder's choice as ACU built a 3-0 lead after a half inning.

Preciado retired the side in order in the bottom of the first before Arizona Christian tacked on four more runs.  Junior Bridget Kruck walked.  Gomez reached on an error.  Kruck and Gomez moved up on a double steal.  Preciado drove home Kruck.  Gomez and Michael both scored on fly to right by pinch hitter Meaghen Nelson.  Sophomore Anely Marcilla doubled home pinch runner Lainie Alves to grab a 7-0 edge.

In the third, Kruck singled, stole second, and moved up to third on a single by Sophomore Jenna Castilleja.  Kruck scored on a groundout to move ACU ahead 8-0.

A homer put the Eagles (11-21) on the board in the bottom of the third.

Looking to enact the mercy rule, Gomez doubled, Michael singled, and Gomez scored on an error.

Freshman Hilaria Stewart came on in relief in the bottom of the fifth and used a double play to help end game one.

ERAU scored in the bottom of the first in game two.  ACU answered with a run in the top of the second after Sophomore Taylor Babbitt walked and scored on a sacrifice fly by Castilleja.

The Eagles scored the next six runs including a four spot in the third.  A Gomez double scoring Castilleja in the seventh but was not enough for ACU.

On Thursday, the Firestorm are headed to Northern California and are supposed to play at Menlo on Friday and William Jessup on Saturday.  However, predicted rain in the area may move the WJU doubleheader up to Thursday.
