Firestorm Take On Mesa Indoor

Mesa, AZ- On Saturday, the ACU women took to the track at Mesa Community College for the Mesa Indoor Invitational.  Sophomores Shyama Moss and Courtney Sweat put in the most work as they appeared in three events.

Moss started with a personal best in the 60 meter race.  She then added hurdles to the 60 meter distance.  Her third event was the pole vault.

Sophomore Lesha Turner also ran both 60 meter events which included lowering her school record in the hurdles to 9.82.

Sweat ran a 28.10 in the 200 meter run along with making an appearance in the long jump.  Her third event was the 4x400 relay running with Senior Charlotte Culiver, Sophomore Kylie Neafus, and Senior Kinsey Pease- finishing third with a time of 4:28.09.

Neafus (400m- 1:05.35), Pease (600m- 1:49.06), and Culiver (800m- 2:24.32) all ran the track individually as well.

Freshman Felicia Harris made her Firestorm debut running the mile.

Freshman Catera Lee doubled up on the long jump (15'10.5") and triple jump (33'9.25").

In the throws, Sophomore Kianna Patterson sent the shot put 30'11.25".  Sophomore Amanda Wick produced her best shot put throw of 30'6.25" before letting the hammer fly 44'0.5".

On Saturday, ACU will have one last opportunity to qualify for NAIA Indoor Nationals when they travel up to Northern Arizona University for the NAU Tune Up.
