Three Records In Field, One Record On Track

Phoenix, AZ- On Saturday, the ACU track and field women set four new school records at the Cody McBride Invitational hosted by Paradise Valley Community College.  The throwers set three records including two by Sophomore Amanda Wick and one came on the track.

Sophomore Lesha Turner sped through the 100 meter races.  Without hurdles, she crossed the line in 13.12 seconds.  With the hurdles she was even better, as she extended her own school record with a time of 15.80.

Sophomore Kylie Neafus ran the 400m race for the first time this season and finished with a time of 1:03.60 to finish fourth overall.

In the 800m race, Senior Charlotte Culiver claimed second with a run of 2:17.08.  She moved up to first place in the 1,500m race with a personal best of 4:55.39.  Freshmen Felicia Harris and Zuri Vazquez also ran both races- making their outdoor debuts.

Posting her 400m hurdles season best time of 1:10.07, Senior Kinsey Pease placed second.  However, with her new school record throw of 123'1", Pease took first in the javelin.

Wick competed in all four throwing events.  Her shot put traveled 30'8.5" (personal record) while she sent the discus 127'9" and the hammer 105'9" (both new school records) and finished with an 81'2" javelin throw.

Junior Rikki Newland threw the shot put (28'3"), discus (109'1"), and javelin (108'9"- fourth place)- all personal best marks.  Sophomore Kianna Patterson set season bests with a 32'3.75" shot put and a 91'3" discus.

On Saturday, the women will compete in a one day event- Team 4 Titus and Ely Meet- hosted at Concordia Irvine beginning at 10:00 am.
