Mesa, AZ- On Friday, Arizona Christian Women's Track has a solid showing at the Mesa Invite as four school records were broken and three first place finishes were claimed- two by Senior Charlotte Culiver and one by Senior Kinsey Pease.
Sophomore Lesha Turner broke her own school record in the two 100 meter events with times of 12.85 and 15.60 (hurdles).
Freshman Catera Lee established a new school record in the triple jump with an effort of 34'8.25". She also tried the long jump for the first time in her collegiate career posting a 15'10.25" jump.
The last school record bettered was Sophomore Amanda Wick with a 114'5" hammer throw. She added a personal best 86'6" javelin throw.
Culiver earned first place in the 800 meter race (2:21.54) and 1,500 meter run (4:54.94).
Pease notched first place in the javelin throw with a 122'5" throw- just six inches off her school record.
The busiest athlete was Sophomore Shyama Moss as she attempted seven events posting times or marks in six of them. She tried the 200 meter race and shot put for the first time in her career.
Junior Rikki Newland upped her personal best mark in the shot put to 28'5".
The Firestorm will have one final tune-up before the GSAC meet when they participate in the Mt. SAC Relays hosted at El Camino College on Friday and Saturday.
