Glendale, AZ- Arizona Christian Softball celebrated Senior Day with a sweep of San Diego Christian on Friday afternoon.  Junior Bri Lopez was 4-4 with a double and three RBI on the day.

  • The Firestorm scored in every half inning they batted
  • A Lopez 2 RBI double highlighted the first
  • Lauryn Nicander, P. Carli, and Lopez all doubled in the four run second
  • Lani San Pedro drove in two with a single to start the scoring in a four run third
  • After single runs in the fourth and fifth, Kat Alderete open the sixth scoring with a double
  • The Hawks produced a seven run fifth
  • Porras did not allow a hit or walk in her two innings of relief

  • ACU jumped out to a 5-0 lead in first- the first eight hitters produced just one out
  • Guzman (single) and Babbitt (sacrifice fly) collected RBIs in the two run second
  • The third inning was the only scoreless inning on the day for the Firestorm
  • Collier smashed the first home run of her ACU career to dead center to cap the scoring on the day
  • Stewart face only three or four batters in four of her five innings of work

"What a great day!  So happy to be able to honor our four seniors and to get two wins for them!  They all contributed today and have been such amazing contributors for our program over the past few years.  We love them so much and want nothing but the best for each of them!  Could not have asked for a better day for them and for our team!"

 

Up Next

On Tuesday, the Firestorm will play their final home doubleheader of the season when they host Benedictine-Mesa at Rose Mofford Sports Complex.  First pitch is set for 4:00 pm.
