Glendale, Ariz.- On Monday, Sophomore Claire Buckley was named the GSAC Softball Player of the Week as announced by the Golden State Athletic Conference. Buckley hit a blistering .714 while slugging 1.429 over the four ACU games last week.
Buckley, from Clovis, CA, went 10-14 at the plate with two home runs, four doubles, five RBI, and six runs against Benedictine-Mesa and OUAZ. The shortstop capped her season with a 3-5, home run, and two doubles effort to help ACU win 8-7 in walk-off fashion over OUAZ on Saturday.
To conclude the season, Buckley was one of the hottest hitters in the GSAC as she produced a 12 game hitting streak while hammering out a .651 average during the run.
