Glendale, Ariz. - ACU Women's Track and Field executed their final work of the regular season at the GCC Invitational on Saturday evening. The 2024 regular-season finale saw 10 personal/season bests and 11 program top-10 performances at Glendale Community College. Top Arizona collegiate teams including Grand Canyon University and OUAZ competed alongside the Lady Firestorm.

Jade Roberts showcased her speed in the 100-meter dash, a 13.18-second time ranking fifth all-time in program history. Kourtney Bruner (26.53 seconds) and Mirdege Lentz (27.42 seconds) each posted program top-10 performances in the 200 meter, Bruner's being third fastest and near a personal record.

The GCC hurdles were kind to Arizona Christian, as four out of six possible program top-10 times were recorded. Tarissa Moore (17.34 seconds) spearheaded the 100-meter and Roberts (1:10.10) led the Firestorm's 400-meter effort.

Like the Firestorm men, the women excelled in the relay portion. The formidable foursome of Jade Roberts, Kourtney Bruner, Zoe Davidson, Jocelyn Odiott produced a season-best time of 4:25.63, good enough for fourth-fastest in the GSAC.

Sophomore Kayla Hourigan represented the ACU throwers well on Saturday, with a personal-best discus throw of 25.62 meters.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH BRIAN BELL

"The coaching staff and I were very pleased to see great performances on the track and the joy the athletes brought to the competition," Coach Bell said. "I was particularly pleased with how well our relay teams performed. The team has come a long way since our first meet in early December. We are all very proud of  the men's and women's teams."
